AppWorks Accelerator features 20 Southeast Asian startups in its first online showcase

AppWorks, a startup accelerator, has launched its first online startup showcase featuring 20 early-stage startups from across the Greater Southeast Asia region.

The are over 10 nationalities represented in this batch, of which 30% have at least one female co-founder, the company said in a statement.

The Taiwan-based accelerator says it has a team of over 100 mentors and 1,000 alumni who help startups fine-tune their products and services. It also organizes a demo day to give startups the opportunity to explain their business models to potential investors and business partners.

The AppWorks ecosystem consists of 395 active startups and 1,331 founders. It has raised a total of US$2.36 billion, with an aggregate valuation reaching US$11 billion.

The accelerator’s key markets include Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Here is a list of the startups featured in its first online showcase:

  • Mighty Jaxx, a culture company aiming to supercharge the global collectible industry on an integrated platform to combine the physical and digital experiences
  • SoopahGenius, creator of the AI-driven collaborative video-editing tool Catapult that enables anyone to turn their experiences into compelling stories
  • Moladin, an automotive platform that powers all transactions in Indonesia, making each one seamless
  • Poseidon Network, a distributed global node network that collects and distributes idle resources from peer-to-peer devices, allowing everyone to build their own services in a cheap way
  • Astra, a face recognition platform to help organizations manage part-time and remote employees more easily and efficiently across multiple locations and regions
  • Accredify, which has digital health passport stores and displays and authenticates medical records securely through the use of blockchain technology
  • AyoBlajar, an e-learning platform that provides basic learning content, live classes, one-on-one mentoring, and a learning management system (LMS) that’s focused on high school students
  • Chip Chip, an edtech platform connecting Filipino teachers with Vietnamese kids for English conversations and lessons
  • ZumVet, a televet (telemedicine services for veterinarians) solution for pet owners that provides services such as video consults, drug delivery, and provision of digital health records at the touch of a button
  • Aiello, a conversational AI software-as-a-service platform that enables fast and affordable deployment of AI services with a robotic process automation (RPA) system for the property management, hospitality, and service industries
  • Cognicept, whose supervised autonomy tools and services make unpredictable applications more reliable and expand the potential of robots
  • Fatster, a mobile social network whose mission is to help overweight people find the best folks to buddy with as they work on losing weight
  • Glints, a full-stack talent platform in Southeast Asia for professionals to upskill themselves and connect and get matched with employers
  • Docosan, a marketplace that lets patients compare healthcare providers and book appointments, thus massively expanding doctors’ client bases
  • Minastir, an AI-based investment strategist that delivers attractive risk-adjusted returns with no correlation to traditional markets
  • Workbean, an employer-branding platform that is building a large directory of company cultures in Asia to guide digital talents to find work where they belong
  • Freehunter, a freelance marketplace that features over 40,000 freelancers across 20 industries
  • Pitchspot, an all-integrated workflow management and strategy planning canvas that enables innovative teams to work smarter and faster
  • GoBuddy, an all-in-one tool for online sellers that combines an ecommerce platform with booking and ticketing management
  • GrowthSpot, a digital platform catering specifically to sellers with limited resources and know-how, which has now acquired over 700 users across Asia
