US AI inference startup Baseten targets $30b valuation

Baseten, a San Francisco-based startup that helps businesses run AI models in production, is seeking about US$2 billion in funding in a round that could value it at up to US$30 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.

Existing investor Sands Capital is expected to lead the round. It would have two tranches, with one valuing Baseten at US$26 billion and the other at US$30 billion.

Baseten was last valued at US$13 billion after raising US$1.5 billion in June. A June 22, 2026, company blog post announced its series F.

Founded in 2019, Baseten provides AI inference software for production workloads and has published customer stories on its website.

Nvidia has also featured Baseten in case studies on cloud-scale AI inference that describe the startup’s use of Nvidia technology.

The prospective round comes as investors pile into AI inference, the process of running models after training.
