Blackwall raises $100m as valuation quadruples to $2.2b
Blackwall, an Estonia-based web traffic security company for hosting providers, said it raised US$100 million in a series C led by AVP at a US$2.2 billion valuation, as demand grows for tools that manage bot traffic and AI agents.
The company offers distributed denial-of-service protection, traffic routing, certificate management, and bot detection.
It previously rebranded from BotGuard and raised 45 million euros (US$50.5 million) in a series B led by Dawn Capital.
Blackwall sells its products through hosting, cloud, and managed service providers. It also has reseller channels through interworks.cloud and software that integrates with hosting panels.
The round also included existing investors Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures, and Tera Ventures.
Blackwall said it will use the funding to expand in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, and to develop more security tools as AI crawlers increasingly consume bandwidth.
