Hong Kong firm Rice Robotics joins embodied AI hub
Hong Kong-based Axonex AI Group, which focuses on AI and robotics, said on 16 October that its indirectly majority-owned joint venture, Rice Robotics (Hong Kong) Limited, had joined the Embodied AI International Applications Hub. Rice Robotics also signed an agreement with the Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre, or FLAIR, under the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
The partnership will initially focus on education and manufacturing. It will cover real-world training and scenario validation for humanoid robots and embodied AI systems.
Rice Robotics HK also launched Tomo on 16 October, a wheel-based humanoid robot designed mainly for education.
FLAIR launched what it described as Hong Kong’s first hub for embodied AI international applications on 15 October.
The announcement comes as another Hong Kong humanoid robotics company held an industry forum, while embodied AI features in China’s wider robotics industry push.
