Kalshi, Polymarket in talks that could value them at $20b
US prediction-market startups Kalshi (2018) and Polymarket (2020) are in early fundraising talks that The Wall Street Journal said could value each prediction-market platform at about US$20 billion.
Kalshi raised US$1 billion at a US$11 billion valuation in December, while Polymarket was valued at US$9 billion after Intercontinental Exchange committed up to US$2 billion.
The Wall Street Journal cited people familiar with Kalshi saying the company reached an annualized revenue run rate of about US$1.5 billion.
Coinbase, Robinhood, Nasdaq, and Cboe are exploring prediction-market and binary products.
