Malaysian fintech firm Fingular gets $20m credit to grow lending
Kuala Lumpur-based fintech group Fingular said on October 28 it secured a US$20 million credit facility from Silverstreak Group, a Singapore-based private credit investor, to expand near-prime consumer and small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) financing in Malaysia.
Fingular said the full facility will be deployed in Malaysia, bringing total funding for its Malaysian lending business to more than US$50 million.
The company said its paid-up capital has grown 5x since the start of 2026 to US$37 million. Its capital adequacy ratio exceeds 25%, and the group has been profitable every quarter since Q4 2025.
In Malaysia, Fingular offers conventional and Shariah-compliant financing. The platform has more than 2.6 million registered users, and more than 2,000 merchants use its AhaPay buy now, pay later service.
The expansion comes as Malaysia’s consumer credit rules change under the Consumer Credit Act 2025. Buy now, pay later is also addressed in related legal commentary, and was reviewed by Bank Negara Malaysia’s Shariah Advisory Council.
