Nasdaq adds APAC fintech leadership in Singapore

Nasdaq appointed Andrew Murray as senior vice president for financial technology in Asia-Pacific on October 26, following the relocation of Bob McCooey, vice chairman and head of international listings, to Singapore.

The appointments aim to build client ties in the region and expand access to global capital.

Murray, who is based in Singapore, most recently worked at FIS, a US-based financial technology company, after earlier roles at Calypso Technology, SunGard, Wall Street Systems, and Deutsche Bank. McCooey has spent more than 20 years at Nasdaq.

The appointments strengthen Nasdaq’s leadership presence in Singapore as the company offers index products in Asia-Pacific and markets financial technology platforms.

They also come as the exchange operator courts companies from the region for US listings, and as Singapore’s regulator backs financial technology development and innovation.
