Nvidia is in talks to provide credit guarantees for a West Virginia data center campus being developed by Nscale, a UK-based AI infrastructure company, for Anthropic to use, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The support would help cover electricity and construction costs for the site, which would use Nvidia chips.

The guarantees could total billions of dollars, according to reports.

Nscale is pursuing an initial public offering, with some investors pushing back on its US$30 billion target.

Reports have also described discussions on a second US$45 billion Anthropic deal for the campus’s second building.

Other reports have described Nvidia’s infrastructure financing efforts.

Nvidia has discussed guaranteeing US$250 billion in data center financing for OpenAI, and it has been described as backing US$164.5 billion in AI data center projects.
