OpenAI said on October 28 it was expanding its partnership with ServiceNow, a US-based workflow software company.

A planned integration will let users find similar incidents, assess change risks, and update ServiceNow records from ChatGPT.

ServiceNow’s Action Fabric applies existing business rules and permissions. Its access control lists govern access to records.

ServiceNow plans to give all employees access to ChatGPT Work and Codex, an AI coding tool, while OpenAI is using ServiceNow workflows in its own operations.

The ServiceNow MCP plugin is available in OpenAI’s marketplace.

Additional capabilities are expected by the end of 2026. Voice features are due in the first quarter of 2027.

Security features are set for early access in January 2027 and general availability in the second quarter. Codex in AI Workflow Factory is expected in 2027.

ServiceNow also positions Now Assist alongside Microsoft Copilot, while Microsoft offers a ServiceNow connector.
