OpenAI has launched its Sora app in Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan, expanding access to its AI-powered video creation tool in Asia.

Sora, first rolled out in the US and Canada in September, lets users generate and remix videos using AI and share them on a customizable feed.

The app is free on iOS in Thailand, with no invite code required, though access may switch to invite mode if GPU constraints occur after 24–48 hours.

Users can create videos in local languages, including Thai, and use features like Cameos, which allow people to insert their likeness into generated videos after verification.

App users can generate up to 15 seconds per video, while Pro users can create up to 25 seconds via the web interface, which includes storyboarding tools.

OpenAI said safety measures include visible and invisible watermarks, teen usage restrictions, and parental controls.

The app currently sets usage limits, which may be adjusted over time.
