Polish sports tech startup ReSpo.Vision secures $4.5m

Poland-based sports technology startup ReSpo.Vision has secured €4.2 million (US$4.5 million) in its latest funding round to improve its AI-powered football tracking and visualization solutions.

The round was led by Vinci and Smartlink, with contributions from Premier League defender Jan Bednarek and notable angel investors, including Snowflake co-founder Marcin Zukowski and Wayve co-founder Amar Shah.

Founded in 2020, ReSpo.Vision employs computer vision and deep learning to extract 3D tracking data from single-camera video feeds.

The technology reportedly tracks over 50 body points per player in 3D space with centimeter-level accuracy.

The new funding will facilitate the company’s expansion into additional competitions and support further development of its technology.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ AI sports analytics market accelerating beyond traditional boundaries

ReSpo.Vision’s funding comes amid substantial growth in the sports tech sector, with the global sports market projected to expand from $488.5 billion in 2018 to $614.1 billion by 20221.

The AI sports analytics market specifically is forecast to reach $1.9 billion by 2024, reflecting the industry’s recognition of AI’s value in enhancing performance analysis and fan engagement2.

This investment trend extends beyond elite-level sports, with companies like ReSpo.Vision and Athlete’s AI working to make sophisticated analytics accessible to a broader range of teams, including those outside the top-tier3.

The single-camera approach represents a significant cost advantage over traditional multi-camera setups, potentially expanding advanced analytics to women’s leagues, youth competitions, and smaller markets that have historically been underserved by sports technology.

ReSpo.Vision’s FIFA certification demonstrates how AI tracking solutions are increasingly being validated by major sports governing bodies, a crucial step toward mainstream adoption across different levels of competition.

2️⃣ Fan engagement evolving toward immersive, personalized experiences

ReSpo.Vision’s Digital Twin Technology represents part of a broader shift in how sports content is being reimagined, moving from passive viewing to interactive experiences that put fans “inside” the game.

Similar companies like WSC Sports have demonstrated strong market validation for AI-driven content platforms, reporting 70% increases in user sessions and 30% year-over-year growth in engagement metrics4.
