SG AI cloud provider Aolani eyes Malaysia data center deals

Aolani, a Singapore-founded cloud provider for AI workloads, said on October 19 that it had signed non-binding letters of intent for up to 500 megawatts of data center capacity in Malaysia, subject to negotiations and definitive agreements.

The company said the capacity is expected to start coming online in the second half of 2027 across multiple sites in Malaysia built to Tier III standards.

Aolani would provide the AI infrastructure, graphics processing unit deployment, and operating requirements once the facilities are completed.

If finalized, the arrangements would raise Aolani’s capacity commitments in Malaysia to as much as 580 megawatts by 2027, from about 80 megawatts already committed in 2026.

Aolani said the expansion is intended to serve demand from hyperscalers and AI companies.

It added that it is exploring local partnerships to provide computing access in Malaysia.
