SG-based Partior, Bahrain’s NBB explore blockchain settlement
National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and Singapore-based Partior, a blockchain-based settlement network for banks, said on October 15 they signed a memorandum of understanding to explore Bahraini dinar settlement on Partior’s network.
The agreement, signed at Sibos, covers an assessment of the operating model, implementation needs, and the technical and regulatory feasibility of NBB becoming a settlement bank for the currency.
NBB is listed on the Bahrain Bourse under ticker NATB.
Partior operates a blockchain network for 24/7 atomic settlement.
Deutsche Bank said it completed its first euro transaction on the platform in September 2025.
Bahrain’s central bank maintains crypto-asset rules and issued a stablecoin issuance framework on July 4, 2025.
The announcement does not specify which regulations would apply to the proposed settlement model.
The agreement follows Partior’s partnership with LSEG on cross-border settlement and adds to the company’s Middle East activity.
