Chinese tech giant Tencent has launched CodeBuddy IDE, an AI-driven tool for product development, design, and research. Currently undergoing internal testing and available via invitation, the platform aims to democratize app creation, making it accessible even to users without coding experience.

CodeBuddy IDE allows users to describe their desired application functions using natural language. The tool then handles the full development cycle, from product design and feature creation to debugging, optimization, and cloud deployment.

The platform integrates with Figma, Tencent’s CloudBase, a serverless development platform, and Supabase, an open-source Firebase alternative, which can automatically generate databases and user permissions. Completed projects can then be deployed to the cloud using Tencent’s CloudStudio, a cloud-based integrated development environment, providing a shareable link for access across devices.

CodeBuddy IDE is available in international and domestic versions, supporting a range of AI models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Tencent Hunyuan, and DeepSeek.

Tencent has not announced a timeline for CodeBuddy IDE’s public release, but it signals the company’s strong push into AI-assisted development.
