Perplexity acquires LinkedIn’s competitor

AI-powered search engine Perplexity has acquired Read.cv, a professional social media platform competing with LinkedIn.
Founded in 2021 by ex-Facebook and Mozilla designer Andy Chung, Read.cv allowed users to share resumes, network, and create personal websites with custom domains.
This acquisition follows Perplexity’s focus on corporate features and is its third acquisition after Carbon and Spellwise.
Perplexity has raised over US$500 million and is valued at US$9 billion.
