Singapore’s DocDoc partners with SpesNet to build digital health ecosystem

DocDoc, a patient intelligence company based in Singapore, announced that it has teamed up with healthcare technology provider SpesNet Global Group to develop an ecosystem designed to help insurers support policyholders.

The healthtech startup combines AI-powered doctor discovery, telemedicine, and digital third-party administrator (TPA) services onto a single platform aimed at insurance companies, brokers, employers, and governments. Meanwhile, SpesNet develops solutions for healthcare providers, medical insurers, and administrators.

Under the partnership, DocDoc will integrate SpesNet’s TPA technology into its telehealth services and its platform Hope, which matches policyholders with healthcare providers.

It will now offer cashless options as well as claims processing to insurance companies, brokers, employers, and bancassurance partners across Asia and beyond. DocDoc will receive access to SpesNet’s platform in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, and mainland China.

“Traditionally, claims processes have been highly manual, and SpesNet’s digital TPA technology is ideally suited to helping our customers create paperless, real-time, and data-driven claims procedures,” said Cole Sirucek, CEO and co-founder of DocDoc.

Established in 2012, DocDoc operates in eight countries and has more than 23,000 doctors in its network. In August last year, the company raised US$13 million in funding led by Adamas Finance Asia.

Together with DocDoc, SpesNet says it will be serving 6 million active members across over 90 insurance, government, and corporate organizations in North America, Africa, and Asia.
